This past weekend, March 4th, 5th, and 6th, we teamed up with Alpha Sigma Phi to raise money for Haiti by selling late-night quesadillas! The quesadillas were only $1 each, and all proceeds are being donated to Save the Children (www.savethechildren.org) who are working on bringing life saving supplies down to Haiti, as well as setting up temporary schools for the displaced Haitian children. The quesadillas were very well received from passerbys. In fact, we ran out of food early every single night! Overall, we ended up raising about $600 dollars. It was a lot of fun, bringing houses together for a good cause.
Greek Awards Banquet February 22, 2010
Hello all!
This past Sunday, February 21st, the 2009-210 Executive Board attended the Greek Awards banquet. Beccy Warren, our last Chapter president, was awarded Greek of the Year; congratulations Beccy! Also, Alpha Chi Omega took home the Outstanding Membership Development award for the Exam Jam we put on. It was a successful evening. Thank you to all of the old Executive Board members, you all did a great job!
Spruce Wood Valentine’s Day Dance! February 14, 2010
This past Friday, February 12th, our girls went to the local Spruce Wood Assisted Living Facility to help decorate and dance at their annual Valentine’s Day dance!
The Bystander Effect February 6, 2010
Today, our chapter attended a conference with Allison Foster, the Director of Collegiate Experience at Alpha Chi Omega, and Curt Herzog, the director of Chapter Development at Pi Kappa Phi. We watched a video about “The Bystander Effect” and how it effects us women in not only our greek lives but in our everyday lives. It was an open forum in which sisters swapped stories, advice, and really opened up. It was a great event!
